Overview
Provide high-quality respiratory care in an academic health center as a Registered Respiratory Therapist I. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, deliver therapeutic respiratory interventions, and manage ventilators and other respiratory equipment for diverse patient populations.
Key duties:
- Interpret arterial blood gases and apply findings to clinical care.
- Operate and troubleshoot respiratory therapies, including ventilator management.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
- Support patient, family, and learner education.
- Deliver care using evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & skills:
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential.
- Strong clinical skills in respiratory assessment, therapy delivery, and equipment/ventilator management.
- Ability to interpret arterial blood gases and make sound clinical judgments.
- Effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff.
