Overview
Perioperative Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care in the operating room, including preoperative assessment and preparation, patient and family education, and surgical site verification.
Deliver safe, evidence-based care by responding to clinical emergencies, monitoring patient status throughout the perioperative period, and completing accurate documentation.
Work collaboratively with surgeons and an interdisciplinary surgical team to coordinate care and maintain patient safety.
Key duties:
- Perform preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgery
- Educate patients and families to support informed participation
- Verify surgical site and procedure details
- Recognize and respond to emergencies
- Monitor vital signs and perioperative clinical indicators
- Document care and communicate relevant findings to the team
- Collaborate with the surgical team to support evidence-based practice
