Overview

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse

Provide complex, step-down level care for medically stable but high-acuity patients. Perform comprehensive patient assessments and manage ongoing care using evidence-based nursing practices.

• Monitor and interpret telemetry and other patient data.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans and support safe transitions of care.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge needs.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.
• Maintain clinical competence through training, mentorship, and support for professional growth.

Key qualifications/skills: strong clinical assessment ability, proficiency with telemetry and IV therapy, medication administration, patient/family education, interdisciplinary teamwork, and a commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
