The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides evaluation, treatment, and education for residents with communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders in a skilled nursing setting.
Responsibilities include
assessing and diagnosing impairments,
developing individualized treatment plans,
conducting bedside swallowing evaluations and making dietary recommendations,
delivering therapy and documenting progress,
collaborating with interdisciplinary teams,
educating residents, families, and staff, and
supervising assistants and students.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology,
valid state license, and
preferably CCC-SLP certification. Experience in geriatrics or skilled nursing is a plus.
